Going to Miami...

After finishing the knitted dress, waiting for feedback on my commissioned project, and completing the dress form, I should be ready to sew sew sew, right? Yeah! Except, I'm leaving Munich to visit my family in Miami. Long plane trip projects: Abuelita's (grandma's) couch arm-covers, Brea Bag rear piece and middle piece, and some reading...

Orange/Red/Yellow Dress Done!

Knitted dress is finally done!
I must say that even though I had the pattern from Rebecca, it was in German and I really had to eye-ball most of it. Thank you to Elemm who helped me translate what I couldn't figure out on my own.

Tape/Papier-Mâché Dress Form

Using the lovely photo tutorial on Threads Magazine, the husband and I ventured into the dress-form making process. I was working on the garbage wedding dress and got to a point where I couldn't go any further because I couldn't pin the dress on myself and fit it effectively. So... this is my solution. Now you can see the nearly finished dress-form (sleeves need to be tailored and the whole thing covered in muslin). Below you can see me cutting the pieces of packing material for the dress, and later the Papier-Mâché strip dress form drying on me.

Update: This dress-form, although fun to make, was only a temporary solution.  It lasted only a few weeks.  The form collapsed into itself when I tried pulling a garment over the top of it.  If I made it again, I would stuff it with hardier materials.

Bag Complete, Dress Almost, New Font!

These past two weeks have been productive. I was sick in late April, but am recovered and can now present my latest work.
Mini-dress in Red/orange/yellow is nearly done. The bag has been crocheted, and I'm looking for a suitable strap, and am ready to sew in the lining, and a new font is ready to be released.
I'll be posting again once the bag is finalized, and when I have the pattern ready too!
